The military court recognized the legality of the sentence in absentia to FSB Colonel Senin for transferring a bribe to Zakharchenko

Lawyer Nikolai Kulik said that the Second Western District Military Court recognized as legal the absentee sentence of FSB Colonel Dmitry Senin for mediation in the transfer of a bribe to ex-Ministry of Internal Affairs Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko in the form of a discount card to a restaurant.

According to the lawyer, Senin’s sentence was left unchanged. He stressed that the defense will continue to appeal. Kulik added that the defense intends to have the verdict overturned and the ex-FSB officer acquitted.

It is noted that in October last year, the 235th Garrison Military Court sentenced him in absentia to nine years in a maximum security colony, and also stripped him of the rank of reserve colonel. The investigation considered Senin to be a participant in a conspiracy with the former acting head of the “T” department of the anti-corruption directorate (GUEBiPK) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dmitry Zakharchenko. According to investigators, Senin acted as an intermediary in transferring Zakharchenko a discount card to the La Mare restaurant.
