Communist MP Andrei Levchenko, convicted of fraud, gets out on parole on his second attempt
The press service of the Angarsk City Court reported, following the consideration of a repeated application for parole on May 10 by the son of the ex-governor of the Irkutsk region, deputy of the legislature of the region, Andrey Levchenko, that the application was granted, the applicant would be released from prison on parole. Earlier it was reported that on July 29, 2022, the Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk sentenced Andrey Levchenko to 9 years in a penal colony in a criminal case of fraud and restriction of competition.
“The court, taking into account the behavior for the entire period of serving the sentence, decided: to release the convicted Levchenko A.S. from serving the main sentence of imprisonment, on parole for 2 years 2 months,” the press service reports.
Earlier, on April 13, the same court had already received a request for parole from Levchenko, but it was denied. On May 10, the convict applied again.
