The site with guitar chords Amdm.ru removed the selections for the compositions of the groups Kino, Nautilus Pompilius, Agatha Christie and the singer Zivert. As it turned out, this was demanded by the copyright holders.
According to the message, “LLC First Musical Publishing House, as well as LLC National Musical Publishing House, demanded that the site remove compositions for which they have copyright. Otherwise, they asked to pay them 500 thousand rubles for every 100 songs from their list per year.
According to RBC, both organizations confirmed that the copyright and related rights to the compositions belong to them. The publishers noted that the owners of the popular site with chords did not really enter into an agreement to use the songs of the authors whose interests they represent.
Now the users of the site intend to create a petition in support of the publication of chords on the web, as this, in their opinion, does not violate copyright. They are sure that this attracts interest in the performer and composition.
Meanwhile, the founder and leader of “Agatha Christie” Vadim Samoilov noted that the “First Musical Publishing House” is indeed the group’s agent, but he called the situation with the site “stupid and ridiculous.” The musician explained that publishing houses did not notice this for many years, but now they have noticed. In addition, he recalled that this is a non-commercial site, and the prices that publishers set are completely inappropriate.
