The Communist Party of the Russian Federation reported on the results of work in the first half of the year and outlined plans for the future

On Monday, the leaders of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held a press conference at which they summed up the work during the spring session of the State Duma and spoke about plans for the future. From their speeches, it followed that against the background of the confrontation between Russia and the West, the communists are betting on the mobilization of resources and rallying citizens, but at the same time they intend to preserve the reputation of the “fighting party”. Among the peaceful topics, party members singled out demography (with an emphasis on large families), education and support for socially oriented entrepreneurship.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov began his speech at the TASS press center with two disturbing news – about the murder of the leader of the Communist Party of Transnistria Oleg Khorzhan and attack to the Crimean bridge. And it was precisely the need to respond to geopolitical challenges with the whole country that he motivated the main tasks of his party. “The first is to mobilize resources as much as possible,” the communist pointed out, recalling the proposals of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma regarding “the development budget, the program for sustainable rural development and the unique experience of “people’s enterprises”.” The second task is to “unify society as much as possible,” which can only be done on the basis of “positive ideas and a constructive program.”

According to Mr. Zyuganov, now President Vladimir Putin is “building a new strategy” (after, according to the leader of the Communist Party, he changed it four times), focusing on strengthening sovereignty, and “this is an extremely important direction.” “But all this requires the solution of the main question: changes in the financial and economic course and budgetary and credit policy,” the communist emphasized.

In the meantime, the financial and economic bloc of the government “continues the old policy, which will never give rates above the world, will not allow to get rid of poverty and the lack of proper training,” Gennady Zyuganov stated.

Therefore, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation offers its program, laws to support key industries and protect socially vulnerable categories of citizens as “an indispensable condition for the country’s exit from the crisis and victory during a special military operation,” the party leader summed up.

His first deputy, Yuri Afonin, added that the Communists also consider it necessary in the current conditions to increase the population’s confidence in the elections and the authorities, which, however, is hindered by changes in the electoral legislation, which “disfigured this system.” He recalled that the Communist Party advocates the abolition of the three-day and remote voting, as well as the municipal filter, “through which, already during this campaign, they are trying to prevent our candidates.” In addition, against the second term of the head of Khakassia, communist Valentin Konovalov, “the most powerful forces of black technologists are thrown,” Mr. Afonin complained. Later, Gennady Zyuganov also returned to this topic, “officially addressing” the presidential administration: “I discussed this situation with the president twice, I sent the results of Konovalov’s work to all members of the Security Council, governors. He’s got very good results in five years.”

The communists are also dissatisfied with the situation in a number of other regions, where, during the formation of precinct election commissions, “almost a thousand of our comrades were weeded out through the so-called rating voting,” Yuri Afonin said. “We sent appeals to the CEC and to the courts and demand answers,” he stressed. “Just like we demand answers about our comrades who protect the interests and rights of workers, and they are being persecuted. The Communist Party is a fighting party, but we believe that now is the time to consolidate.”

Party members offer to consolidate at the international level.

Thus, Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee Dmitry Novikov spoke about the fruitful cooperation between the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Communist Party of China, within the framework of which the delegations of Russian communists intend to annually get acquainted with the experience of the PRC and receive Chinese comrades in Russia.

“We will be poor heirs of the victorious fathers if we reduce all cooperation along the China-Russia line only to the figures of trade. We must understand that in key planetary events, our country, the Soviet Union, and China were on the same side of the historical barricades,” recalled Mr. Novikov.

Party aspirations in social policy were announced by the secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Maria Drobot. It followed from her speech that the Communist Party, first of all, intended to focus on solving demographic problems, including through legislative support for large families, as well as on education and patriotic upbringing. Secretary of the Central Committee Alexander Yushchenko also spoke about the search for “media keys” for communicating with young people, emphasizing that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation puts objective coverage of current political events at the forefront. True, the implementation of these plans is sometimes hindered by the fact that the media pay increased attention to the party in power, but the communists monitor the broadcast and complain to the CEC in case of violations of the law on equal access. Work in this direction allows the Communist Party of the Russian Federation to maintain a solid second place among all parties in terms of media coverage, Mr. Yushchenko concluded.
