The Commonwealth Biathlon Cup started in the region. The competitions will be held on March 9, 11 and 12 in the SC “Pearl of Siberia”. The Tyumen region will be represented by fifteen athletes. The honor of the Tyumen region will be defended by Olympic medalists Yevgeny Garanichev and Alexander Loginov, as well as Alexander Povarnitsyn and Victoria Slivko. Governor Alexander Moor urged to support the athletes. “The strongest athletes from Russia and Belarus will go to the start. Good luck to all athletes! Come cheer for ours!” he said.
Experts talk about the high quality of the sports complex “Pearl of Siberia” and the preparation of the slopes. According to Viktor Maigurov, head of the Russian Biathlon Union, regional officials took the organization of the Cup very responsibly: several meetings of the organizing committee were held, where all the details of the event were discussed.
Earlier stages of the Cup have already been held in Ryazan and Belarus. Fans note that in Ryazan there were queues for tents, high prices for souvenirs. In Belarus (village Raubichi) some similar positions for fans were absolutely free.
