The social committee of the upper house of the Russian parliament at a meeting supported the law on recruiting citizens of the Russian Federation with an outstanding criminal record and on alternative service during mobilization.
Consideration of the corresponding law by senators is planned tomorrow. According to the current legislation, persons with an unexpunged or outstanding conviction for committing a serious crime are not subject to conscription for military service upon declaration of mobilization in Russia.
The Russian Federation has been conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine since February 24. Against this background, the United States and its allies in the North Atlantic Alliance continue to pump weapons into the Ukrainian army, allocating tens of billions of dollars for this. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons by the West only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the RF Armed Forces.
