The Chukotka team took part in the Table Tennis Cup of the Far Eastern Federal District

In Vladivostok, at the FEFU site, the first round of the Far East Team Table Tennis Cup was held. The competitions were held by the Khabarovsk Regional Table Tennis Federation with the support of the embassy of the Far Eastern Federal District, the Ministry of Sports of Russia, the Governments of the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, and the Far Eastern Federal University.
140 athletes from 32 teams from all 11 regions of the Far East took part in the tournament, including for the first time the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The teams of regional universities also fought for the title of champion – FEFU, FEGUPS, TOGU and enterprises: Russian Railways and TOR Primorye.
“For the first time in many years, all the Far Eastern regions have gathered at one site. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the regional federations, a decision was made to open a table tennis federation in Chukotka,” said Valery Savin, President of the Khabarovsk Table Tennis Federation.
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Khabarovsk Territory and Buryatia became the winners of the first round of the Team Cup of the Far East in table tennis among women’s teams. Among the men’s teams – Primorsky Krai, KRDV Primorye (Primorsky Krai), Amur Region.
“The competition is very serious. The goal was set for the team – to gain game experience in competitions of this level. In the future, we plan to open a Regional Table Tennis Federation in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug,” the regional Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported.
Competitions were held from 19 to 21 May. The second round will take place from 3 to 6 August in Khabarovsk.
