Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar was hospitalized after suffering a concussion. The incident occurred at the celebration of Simchat Torah in the Moscow synagogue in Maryina Roshcha, said the chairman of the public council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FJC), Borukh Gorin.
According to him, 59-year-old Mr. Lazar is in the European Medical Center. He assured that “no fatal things, thank God, happened.” “So now he’s sleeping there, because it’s apparently a severe concussion. Apparently he fell hard. They say everything is fine, nothing too bad. He needs rest for a few days,” Mr. Gorin told RIA Novosti.
In his Telegram he wrote that the rabbi “danced until half past two in the morning,” and “at half past two in the morning he fell.” “I don’t know if I slipped or collided with one of the dancers,” added the chairman of the FEOR public council.
