The news that Honored Artist of Russia Ramila Iskander was found with drugs during a search had the effect of a bomb exploding. Let us recall that in the country house of the theater and film stars they found amphetamine and 0.05 grams of cocaine. And under the skin of the car – almost two kilograms of mephedrone. The 46-year-old artist now faces a sentence of 15 to 20 years. But she can avoid punishment. Star lawyer Alexander Benkhin told MK about this.

“Ramily’s prospects are not bright,” says Benkhin. – 2 kg of mephedrone is not just a large size, but an especially large one. People found in possession of 2-3 grams receive an average of 8 years in prison. And here – almost two kilograms! Obviously not for your own use.

“Ramilya may repent, but punishment can only be avoided in one case,” continues Benkhin. – If she can prove that she has nothing to do with drugs. And, for example, they were given to her. But this will be extremely difficult to do. Because they check carefully. They make swabs from her nails to find out if she has traces of this particular substance, which was found under the car’s upholstery. Are her fingerprints on this package? Whether anyone had access to her car – investigators will check all these points very carefully.

I think she faces a real prison sentence. The court, of course, will take into account various factors: the fact that she has not previously been convicted, the fact that she has a minor child… All of this will serve as mitigating circumstances. But, nevertheless, she will have a real sentence. I think that she will receive 8-10 years in prison with all mitigating circumstances. And if without emollients – twice as much.

“Mephedrone, unfortunately, is the scourge of our time,” the lawyer complains. – It is very cheap to produce, but it is sold at many times more expensive: $50 per gram. It turns out that the “gain” is greater than that of cocaine or marijuana. After using mephedrone, people’s psyche breaks down, often ending in suicide. So it is not at all harmless, like all other drugs.
