The scammers have invented a new phone scam scheme. They call and introduce themselves as employees of the Central Bank of Russia (CBR). The director of the information security department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Vadim Uvarov informed the journalists about this.
He added that attackers also often send documents with the logo and seal of the Bank of Russia via messenger or e-mail.
Uvarov noted that there were cases when scammers used his own data in their legends. The head of the information security department of the Central Bank recalled that the regulator, on its own initiative, does not send letters to citizens, does not call or send messages, and does not service accounts of individuals at all.
