Several settlements in the suburbs of Chelyabinsk were left without electricity after an accident at a transformer substation. The incident was accompanied by several bright flashes in the sky, which were observed by residents of different areas of the regional center.

According to the press service of Rosseti Ural PJSC, at 18:14 (16:14 Moscow time) a short-term shutdown of two 110 kV overhead power lines was recorded due to protection. “Bright flashes are associated with short circuits at power facilities. The 110 kV lines are now in operation. There are no consequences for the system reliability of power supply,”— reported in company.

As a result of the accident, the villages of Mokhovichki, Krasnoye Pole and Prudny were left without electricity. Energy workers restore power supply to de-energized consumers by promptly switching to backup circuits. Backup power supplies were also sent to the site.
