The cause of death of 35-year-old actor Ellingson from “My Sister’s Keeper” has been revealed.

Evan Ellingson’s cause of death has been revealed less than a month after the actor died at the age of 35.
Ellingson died of an accidental fentanyl overdose, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
On November 5, the My Sister’s Keeper star was found dead at his residence in Fontana, California.
Although Ellingson has not appeared on screen in 10 years, he had several roles in projects throughout his childhood and adolescence. His most notable role was as Jesse Fitzgerald, Sarah Cameron Diaz’s teenage son, in Jodi Picoult’s 2009 adaptation of My Sister’s Keeper. In the film he starred alongside Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vasilyeva.
Ellingson, who reportedly began acting at age 10, also played Kyle Harmon, the son of Lt. Horatio Caine David Caruso, in several episodes of CSI: Miami. The role in the crime drama was his last acting project.
His other credits include Total Savages, 24, Letters from Iwo Jima, Titus, Mad TV and State of Mind.
Ellingson told The Philippine Star in a 2009 interview: “I’ve never had anything like this [детского] experiences with my friends. I’ve never spent more time with them. However, my childhood was cool. I was busy doing what I loved. I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early.”
In 2021, the actor also previously revealed that he sought treatment for addiction after becoming addicted to hard drugs at the age of 19.
