The Investigative Committee of Russia has reclassified the criminal case of the attack on lawyer Elena Ponomareva from an article on hooliganism to a crime against justice. The investigation now officially connects the attack with the case of drug trafficking on the darknet, the criminal case about the customer has been separated into a separate proceeding.

The Chamber of Lawyers of the Moscow Region announced the retraining Vedomosti. The defendants face up to 10 years in prison.

The case against the customer is separated into a separate proceeding. The investigation believes that the order came from an unidentified person who was interested “in the investigation and consideration by the court of criminal case No. 11801460021002946” on the organization of an online drug store on the Staff Man darknet, Vedomosti’s law enforcement source said. According to investigators, in June 2023, the customer posted an anonymous request on the darknet, in which he offered 100,000 rubles. in cryptocurrency for pouring green paint on a lawyer, and 1 million rubles. for the acid attack. It is alleged that Karpov and Morozov, who had previously been repeatedly prosecuted, agreed to the option with brilliant green.

The Chamber of Lawyers of the Moscow Region noted that it joined the defense of Ms. Ponomareva even before she was attacked. Previously, unknown people poured paint on her car. Elena Ponomareva was attacked at a bus stop on Rublevsky Highway in Moscow. Before that, she was sent threats in messengers with pictures of her dog and property. The accused are arrested.
