The capacity of Russian data centers has grown by more than 20% in 2023

The capacity of domestic data processing centers (DPCs) in 2023 increased by 21% to 70,300 rack spaces. Almost a third of the market is now occupied by Rostelecom-DPC, which operates 21,408 racks. The top three are IXcellerate and DataPro (each with just over 6,000 racks). Also notable market players are 3data, Selectel, MTS, Rosenergoatom, Oxygen and a number of other companies, each of which has more than 1000 racks. These statistics are provided by iKS-Consulting.
In 2022, the Russian market for data center services increased by 28.1% to 89.1 billion rubles, iKS-Consulting analysts calculated. It includes the cloud segments (cloud services), colocation (location of client equipment in data centers) and other services. In the structure of the Russian data center market, 55% of the volume in monetary terms is accounted for by cloud, 40% by colocation, the remaining percentage is divided between telecom and other services. According to the forecasts of Stanislav Mirin, leading consultant at iKS-Consulting, in 2023 the colocation business in terms of money may grow by 20–22%, and cloud by 30–40%.
