Migratory birds are starting to return to the capital, preferring to wait out the winter in warm countries. Mospriroda has published a calendar of arrivals of birds from wintering.

Since mid-March, rooks, as well as buzzards and long-eared owls, can already be seen in the natural areas of Moscow. Very soon starlings, wagtails, finches and common gulls will return to the capital. And after them, according to the Mospriroda calendar, teals, larks and lapwings will follow by the end of the month. What migratory birds we can expect in April and May – see the Mospriroda calendar.

In total, about 260 species of birds live in Moscow, of which about 160 species fly away for the winter.

Soon the nesting period will begin for the feathered inhabitants of the capital, so experts warn that noisy festivities should not be held in the green areas of the city so as not to frighten away the birds from their already familiar places. But they will surely be delighted with the new housing, so the installation of birdhouses, shearers, gogolyatniks and other bird houses is not only not prohibited, but even welcomed. If, of course, place them according to the rules.
