Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree terminating the agreement between Russia and Finland on promoting cross-border cooperation. Document published on the legal information portal.
The Russian government also instructed the Russian Foreign Ministry to notify Helsinki of this decision.
An agreement to promote cross-border cooperation was concluded between Russia and Finland on April 13, 2012 in Helsinki. In it, the parties expressed their intentions to promote the expansion of friendly ties between the peoples of the countries, as well as to continue and develop long-term cross-border cooperation.
How should from the document, the agreement was concluded for an indefinite period. It may be terminated by either party by written notice through diplomatic channels. In this case, the agreement will terminate 90 days from the date of receipt of the notice.
