The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a bill that proposes that the state corporation Roscosmos and its subordinate government agencies, unitary enterprises and other legal entities switch to a closed public procurement system, it follows from the information on website lower house of parliament.
According to the document, Roscosmos and its subordinate companies will not have to post information about the conclusion of a government contract on the Unified Information System in the field of government procurement or anywhere on the Internet.
In 2020 the government developed a draft resolution, according to which it was proposed to use a closed method of identifying suppliers when making a number of purchases by Roscosmos. The explanatory note stated that it was necessary to classify procurements as foreign states were analyzing open information from state corporation contracts.
In April 2023, Roscosmos offered increase the level of confidentiality of information about procurements of state companies related to the execution of government contracts for state defense orders. Now such purchases are already classified, but information about cooperative chains in government procurement in this area remains available, the state corporation noted.
