The Russian government has submitted amendments to the legislation for consideration by the State Duma, which provide for the replacement of the term “mental retardation” with the wording “intellectual impairment”.
The corresponding document on Friday, December 8, appeared in the electronic database of the lower house of parliament.
Earlier it became known that over the past five years, Russians’ interest in the topic of psychology has grown: Russians trust psychologists more than before, 28% of respondents are convinced, but 22% have the opposite opinion. At the same time, 48% of respondents believe that turning to specialists in the field of psychology is beneficial and helps solve problems.
