The Cabinet of Ministers approved the concept of reducing alcohol consumption

The Russian federal government has approved the concept of reducing alcohol consumption in the country for the period until 2030. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced this on Friday, December 15.

The department emphasized that the implementation of this document will help reduce morbidity, disability and mortality associated with alcohol consumption by Russians. This is one of the important elements of improving the quality and length of life.

The Ministry of Health recalled that in 2023 the volume of alcohol consumption by Russians is 8.9 liters per person. By 2030, it is planned to reduce this figure to 7.8 liters.

It was previously reported that, according to expert forecasts, in 2024 prices for imported wines could increase by up to 30%, and for Russian wines – by at least 10%. Moreover, inexpensive drinks will be the first to suffer – perhaps this segment will simply disappearand prices for wine and champagne will start from 600-700 rubles.

At the same time, there are Russians who consider alcohol stress reliever, it is used for these purposes by 12% of participants in a study conducted by the Mail.ru Health service. However, doctors warn about the health risks of drinking alcohol.
