The Cabinet of Ministers approved negotiations with NASA on an addition to the agreement on cross-flights to the ISS

The Russian government has approved negotiations between Roskosmos and NASA on signing an addendum to the agreement on cross-flights to the International Space Station (ISS). Relevant order Cabinet published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“Accept the proposal of the state corporation for space activities Roscosmos, agreed with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other interested federal executive bodies, on holding negotiations on signing an addendum to the agreement on the implementation of the agreement between the state corporation for space activities Roscosmos (Russian Federation) and the National United States Aeronautics and Space Administration regarding integrated crew flights on Russian and American manned transport vehicles,” the text reads.

On April 26, Director General of Roscosmos Yury Borisov at the educational marathon “Knowledge. First” toldthat colleagues from Asian, African and even European countries are ready to cooperate with Russia in space. He noted that Moscow would not self-isolate on this issue. Borisov stressed that space should be out of politics. “This cooperation should be developed with all those countries who want and can work with us,” said the head of Roscosmos.

Before that, it became known that Borisov informed heads of foreign space agencies to extend work on the ISS until 2028. Letters were sent to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, ESA Head Josef Aschbacher, CSA President Lisa Campbell and Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan Keiko Nagaoka.

Last summer, Roscosmos and NASA signed agreement on cross-flights of crews to the ISS.
