The British Foreign Office compared on its Twitter the concept of foreign policy of the Russian Federation approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin with an April Fool’s joke.
“April Fool’s Day tomorrow,” reads a British Foreign Office entry dated 31 August.
This is how British diplomats commented on the screenshot of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the parameters of the new concept of Russia’s foreign policy, which states that it is “peace-loving, open, predictable, consistent and pragmatic” and based on international law.
Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev explained that the approval of the updated concept of Russia’s foreign policy means that the country’s foreign policy leadership has a clear idea of how to act in a rapidly changing geopolitical situation. According to him, this document will form the basis of Russia’s actions in the medium and longer term.
