In February, UK GDP grew by 0.1% compared to the previous month. Such data today, April 12, presented UK Office for National Statistics. Thus, the growth was in line with the expectations of analysts surveyed by Reuters. Industrial production in February increased by 1.2%. The services sector grew by 0.1%, while the construction sector decreased by 1.9%.

In monthly GDP growth, analysts see signs of recovery in the British economy after the recession last year; in January, GDP also grew by 0.3%. In the third and fourth quarters of 2023, GDP declined, indicating a technical recession. According to Paul Dales, senior UK economist at Capital Economics, this “almost certainly confirms that the recession is over.”
