The board of the Petersburg Dialogue voted to dissolve the project created by Putin and Schroeder

Based on the results of voting at the general meeting held by the board of the “Petersburg Dialogue”, a decision was made to dissolve the project. Petersburg Dialogue was created in 2001 on the initiative of Vladimir Putin and Gerhard Schroeder as a platform for building relations between Russia and Germany in politics, business and civil society. It was funded by the governments and business communities of both countries.
According to the report of the project, the dissolution of the “Petersburg Dialogue” is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the law. 32 board members voted “for” dissolving the project, 5 people opposed, and one abstained.
The forum of representatives of the two countries has been held annually since April 2001, with the exception of 2014, when it was canceled due to the inclusion of Crimea into Russia, and 2020, when it was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
