The blogger who “tickled” the “Motherland” was sentenced to forced labor

The Central District Court of Volgograd found blogger Alena Agafonova, who “tickled” the “Motherland” in the video, guilty of rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports press service court. She was sentenced to ten months of forced labor with the withholding of 10% of her earnings to the state.

The court also banned the girl from publishing information on the Internet for two years. The verdict did not enter into legal force. Alena Agafonova was released from the courtroom.

Last summer blogger became a defendant a case of desecration of graves, which was opened by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. After this, Alena Agafonova recorded another video where she apologized and called her action stupid.

In February 2024, the 24-year-old defendant was detained at one of the international airports in Moscow upon arrival in Russia, taken to Volgograd, charged with rehabilitation of Nazism and imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center. The investigation was already conducted by the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the region, which considered that the blogger had committed “immoral and cynical actions that insulted the symbol of the fortitude of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.”

Alena Agafonova admitted guilt and asked to consider her case in a special manner.
