Deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – Mikhail Matveev and Vyacheslav Markhaev – submitted a bill to the State Duma proposing to introduce a fee from visitors to restaurants, clubs and bars in order to financially support the special operation. The deputies propose to establish a fee of 1% of the bill for restaurant visitors. The Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation was established by Russian President Vladimir Putin in early April.
