The development strategy for the development of the Temnikovsky district of the Republic of Mordovia, which in 2021 became part of the pilgrimage and tourist cluster “Arzamas – Diveevo – Sarov” (Nizhny Novgorod region), will be handled by DOM.RF.
According to the press service of the state company, the document will be prepared taking into account the opinions of residents, small businesses and experts. In the first days of June, specialists from the design department will visit the iconic religious and tourist sites of the region – the city of Temnikov, the village of Alekseevka, the village of Sanaksar and the Mordovian Reserve. There will also be a meeting with the head of the district, at which they will discuss the details of the upcoming work. In the near future, an online crowdsourcing platform will be created, where citizens will be able to leave their proposals.
“We have important and responsible work ahead of us. Arzamas-Diveevo-Sarov-Temnikov is a spiritual and cultural center with specially protected areas and historical buildings. It is important to preserve these objects, the special spirit of these places. At the same time, the task is to develop architectural, planning, transport and engineering solutions necessary for the development of the cluster, the tourist flow in which will increase to 1.8 million people a year by 2030,” said Denis Filippov, Deputy General Director of DOM.RF.
“The development of a pilgrimage and tourism cluster in the Temnikovsky district of Mordovia is a major task for us. The territory has a high potential in tourism: there are significant religious, natural sites, architectural and historical monuments. This land is associated with the name of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov, whose name is revered in Russia and abroad,” said the head of the republic, Artem Zdunov.
The course of design work will be controlled by the Board of Trustees for the revival of the Sarov and Diveevo monasteries. Its chairman is the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko. It is planned to complete the development of the strategic document in early 2024.
