The Belgorod governor spoke about the refusal of business to help in restoration

At an operational meeting in the regional government, Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov reportedthat the authorities are moving to restore property damaged by shelling from Ukraine at the expense of budget funds. It is impossible to carry out restoration work using the reserve fund due to the lack of funds donated by local businesses.

According to the head of the region, large businesses continue to help form an extra-budgetary fund, but some companies never gave money for the restoration of damaged property. Mr. Gladkov did not name specific enterprises, but noted that they were formed at the expense of the region’s land fund. “The area has always invested in them. They refuse to help the residents of Belgorod and the Shebekinsky urban district,” said Mr. Gladkov. “Probably, trips to the United Arab Emirates, a change of transport, new fur coats and new cars for wives are more important stories. Let’s leave it to the conscience of their leaders.”

In connection with the transition to financing restoration work from the budget, Vyacheslav Gladkov instructed the mayor of Belgorod Valentin Demidov to prepare the necessary calculations. “Let’s see how much money we have and what efforts we need to make in order to get help from those enterprises whose owners have a more humane attitude towards people in trouble. We understand that there are problems with this,” said Mr. Gladkov. Since the end of last year in Belgorod there has been damage from shelling got 1750 residential premises.

As the governor added, at the expense of budgetary funds the authorities are not able to restore the transport damaged by the shelling. “This form that we adhere to is not provided for by law. Over the past month and a half, we have paid out almost 250 million rubles in Belgorod alone. We understand that this is actually the salvation of people. According to the law, 10 thousand rubles are required. for a damaged car and 20 thousand for a completely destroyed one. In good faith, we are not able to offer this form. People don’t deserve to be treated like this. Although some enterprises have a different assessment of values,” Mr. Gladkov concluded.
