Associate Professor Bystrov: harmful bacteria do not die when washing meat, but spread throughout the kitchen

Washing some foods will do more harm than good. Associate Professor of the Department of Food Industry Dmitry Bystrov told the Russians about this in a conversation with Life.ru.

The scientist explained that pathogenic bacteria that are on meat do not die during washing, but, along with drops of water, spread throughout the kitchen, getting into clean dishes or food and thereby threatening health.

This type of poultry processing also increases the risk of salmonella infection.

According to the publication’s interlocutor, it is not recommended to wash chicken eggs in advance. It is better to do this before actually preparing the food.
