The battle for Moiseev’s inheritance: Boris’s brother lost his property because of a phone call

Marx Tolkach explained why he did not declare his rights to the inheritance

A little more than a year has passed since the death of Boris Moiseev. “Little Borya” died due to consequences associated with numerous strokes. The artist’s inheritance went to his constant director Sergei Gorokh. But Moiseev’s brother Mark Tolkach did not receive a penny from the property. Marx first told MK correspondents how this happened.

“Many people ask me why I didn’t go to Moscow and receive any inheritance,” says Marx. “I probably made the biggest mistake in my life.” After Boris’s death, they called me from Moscow and said: “We are your friends and Boris’s friends.” Last name and first name were not given. “Do you want to live?” – they asked me at the other end of the line. “Yes,” I said. “Then don’t stick your nose here in Moscow,” they answered at the other end of the line.

– And because of this you decided to refuse the inheritance?

– I am 83 years old. If I went to Moscow and fought for my brother’s inheritance, I had to fill out a bunch of documents, medical insurance. It was necessary to rent a hotel and organize meals. It would cost me a lot of money. I am not a beggar, I earned my living. Never in my life did I ask my brother Boris for a penny. But still, a lot of money was needed for a trip to Moscow. That’s why I didn’t go.

— It turns out that you have not officially declared your rights?

– No, I didn’t officially declare it. But I understand that they have already made sure that I and my family are left without anything. We didn’t know what Boris had in property: how many apartments, houses, money, jewelry. We knew absolutely nothing. I am 14 years older than Boris. I never thought in my life to find out what he had. I never thought of asking for a deed of gift or making a will. Because I didn’t want Boris to die before me.

-Did you get anything from him?

– Nothing. The only thing I have is a photograph of him, a portrait… There are magazines with his interviews. And that’s it – there is nothing more. In material terms, absolutely nothing. Not even five cents. Although my wife Lyuda, who worked with Boris for many years, knew that he had diamonds. But I have no idea what happened to them.

— Why haven’t you communicated with Boris in recent years?

“For the last two years we have not been able to reach Boris or contact him. When we were in Moscow, we came to programs, we were not allowed to see him. After all, alcohol and smoking do not improve health, and we could protect Boris from this.

— Did Boris like to drink?

“I didn’t drink with him.” But my wife Lyudochka worked with Boris in his youth, and knew that yes, he could drink heavily. It is possible to organize life in such a way that it leads to death. This is what I think happened with Boris.
