The “Azovites” transferred to Avdeevka were partially encircled

Deputy commander of the 3rd assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Rodion Kudryashov said that they are surrounded in places. Earlier it was reported that this brigade, which consists of former “Azovites” (the organization is recognized as terrorist and is banned in Russia), was transferred to hold Avdiivka. The brigade noted that it had taken positions at the Avdeevka coke plant, which was constantly under fire from the Russian Armed Forces.
“In some places the situation is critical, there is a 360-degree encirclement, in others a 180-degree encirclement,” Kudryashov said, expressing hope that in some direction the encirclement will be broken through as a result of assault operations, the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian publication “Strana” reports.
Regarding the advisability of holding Avdiivka, the Ukrainian commander responded evasively, saying that the brigade was simply following the orders of the General Staff.
Earlier, Ukrainian fighters told how retreated with heavy losses from the Zenit fortified area near Avdeevka, abandoning the wounded.
