Autoexpert Mikhail Kolodochkin listed “Evening Moscow” four dangerous habits of drivers that increase the risk of an accident.
The first is driving a car with dirty windows. “The view through such glasses is disgusting,” the expert noted and suggested that “perhaps a person is too lazy to do this, pay attention to the car, so he drives like this.” There is nothing good in this, Kolodochkin noted.
Another dangerous habit is typing messages on your smartphone while driving. The expert stressed that this is more dangerous than a telephone conversation while driving.
The third habit is to be distracted from the road for a snack. “If a person chews something whole (like a chocolate bar), then it’s okay,” Kolodochkin said. “But if he constantly puts his hand somewhere in the bag with the same chips, then his hands get very dirty.” In turn, dirty hands get dirty, “all controls” of the car, in addition, “the package can be overturned.” After that, as the expert noted, the person “does not think about driving the car at all – he looks under his feet, and not at the road.”
Kolodochkin also called driving a car with one hand a bad habit. According to him, this does not give full control over the car. The correct position of the hands on the steering wheel is when they lie just above the steering spoke, and the thumbs are under the lugs on the steering wheel.
