The head of the government of the Kherson region, Andrey Alekseenko, wrote on his Telegram channel that the water level in the city of Holaya Pristan is rising rapidly. According to him, it can rise above the roofs of houses.
“Following Aleshki, the situation in the Naked Pristan began to deteriorate towards evening. The floodplain areas went under water during daylight hours, then the level of flooding began to grow rapidly,” the report says.
Alekseenko added that people “have to be persuaded” to evacuate. Local residents do not believe that water can rise to the roofs of their houses or cover entire buildings.
Over 50 buses arrived in Alyoshki, Golaya Pristan, Novaya Kakhovka to evacuate local residents to safe areas.
