Several battalions from those citizens who, due to health reasons or due to age, cannot be called up, but have combat experience and a “great desire”, are being formed in the Belgorod region. About it wrote Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his Telegram channel.
He explained that “literally from the very first days of the start of the special military operation” a large number of residents of the region approached him, who spoke about the need to start training and forming territorial defense or self-defense units. “We have made such a decision,” the governor confirmed.
According to him, battalions are formed from those who “for health reasons or within the limits of age cannot be called up by the armed forces, but have combat experience and a great desire, if necessary, to defend their home and their families.”
Training with detachments in all border areas of the Belgorod region is already being conducted by “experienced instructors who have gone through a large number of local wars and have combat experience.”
A few days ago, businessman and creator of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the absence of the company’s current instructors “on the territory of the Kursk and Belgorod regions.” They “do not train anyone” there, and with volunteer militias, “all classes are held at the main base” of the PMC, presumably in the Krasnodar Territory.
“Perhaps there is one of our former employees in the Belgorod region, but these courses have nothing to do with the PMC training program,” the Prigozhin Press Service Telegram channel quoted the businessman as saying.
