Cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub, representing Roscosmos, completed their first spacewalk as part of the 70th long-term expedition to the International Space Station (ISS). According to information from Roscosmos, they closed the exit hatch of the Poisk module.
The spacewalk took place on Wednesday at 20:49 Moscow time. The cosmonauts successfully completed extravehicular activity (EVA) tasks in 7 hours and 41 minutes.
During the EVA, the cosmonauts turned off the hydraulic circuits of the radiation heat exchanger, from which a leak occurred on October 9. They also examined and photographed the depressurization site so that the data obtained would help specialists on Earth determine the causes of the leak.
