The annual Golden Ring Ultra Trail 100 finished in Suzdal

On July 21-23, the annual Golden Ring Ultra Trail 100 ultramarathon was held in Suzdal. The competition included trail races at distances from 5 km to 100 km, as well as children’s races for 1 km and 3 km. A total of 5,000 people took part in the event.

The sports weekend was opened by the participants of the Suvorov Extreme 30K race, which this year was held for the first time as part of the Golden Ring Ultra Trail 100. They ran 30 km along a picturesque track that ran past the family estate of the Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov. At the distance, the participants were offered to overcome a large number of natural fords and water obstacles, which made the competition truly bright and memorable. The end of the first competitive day was a 10 km night race – “Hard Night 10K”.

On the second day of the competition, there was a morning 5 km race – Morning Run 5k, FUN RUN competitions for young athletes from 0 to 10 years old and trail running for athletes from 11 to 14 years old – Teen Trail Race 3K. Beginning runners covered 1 km and 3 km, depending on the age category. A little later, the participants of the Sprint GRUT 5K 5 km race also started.

The final day of the competition was dedicated to the T20, T30 and T50 races (20 km, 30 km and 50 km respectively). Fans of super difficult tracks tried their hand at the T80 distance (80 km), and true extreme sportsmen challenged their abilities and overcame the title race of 100 km as part of the T100 ultramarathon.

At the finish line, all participants in the competition were waiting for medals, on which real blacksmiths on a fiery anvil burned out the distance traveled.

However, the competitive program was not limited to this. This year, within the framework of the Golden Ring Ultra Trail 100, for the first time, a corporate trail relay race was held at a distance of 30 km. The competition took place on July 23. They were attended by 7 teams, each of which had four people. Participants overcame a distance of 30 km, which was divided into several stages (11 km, 8 km, 8 km and 7 km).

The first place was taken by the VEB.RF team, they received a unique 12-kilogram handmade challenge cup, and all participants received a medal inspired by giant plants from the group of tree-like ferns that are found on the course in Suzdal.
