The Russian Ministry of Sports has included drone racing and laser combat in the All-Russian Register of Sports as recognized and official sports disciplines. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
In addition, the Ministry of Sports of Russia recognized breaking, aerial gymnastics and all-around GTO as sports included in the register.
Drone racing was added to the list of compulsory disciplines of the TRP complex, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, in 2022.
However, at the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) turned to international sports federations with a recommendation not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competition.
At a meeting of the IOC Executive Committee, held on March 28, it was recommended to allow Russian athletes in a neutral status, provided they do not participate in the support of hostilities.
