For the first time, units of the Airborne Forces attracted civilian instructors to train personnel of medical evacuation groups in the war zone on the territory of Ukraine, reported “RIA News” Russian Ministry of Defense.
The department clarified that the training is taking place in the rear area of the military operation zone in the Lugansk People’s Republic. It is reported that classes are conducted with regular medical units of the Airborne Forces, which went to the area to restore combat capability after completing combat missions.
The Defense Department said civilian tactical medicine instructors were trained to department standards at the Military Medical Academy. As stated in the department, the emphasis is on practical training in conditions close to combat.
Commander of a separate medical detachment of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Armed Forces Yuri Brovko in October 2022 told, that his unit is evacuating wounded soldiers from the front line. Armored vehicles, one cover vehicle and one evacuation vehicle are used to transport military personnel to field hospitals, he said.
