The relatives of Mikhail Makarov, a hero from Shchelkovo near Moscow, are proud of the head of the family. The 72-year-old man, we recall, was not afraid to neutralize a street robber alone. MK found out some more details of his biography.

Mikhail Viktorovich has an adult daughter and son. According to the children, their dad in his youth was interested in, among other things, ecology: he participated in cleaning rivers, did not miss a single city cleanup, and collected waste paper with them. They believe that dad’s action fits very well with his character – otherwise he simply would not have been able to act.

Well, the dexterity with which the pensioner stopped and neutralized the runner is explained by his good physical fitness. In the past, Mikhail Viktorovich was a professional swimmer, he even has a sports rank. And now he lifts dumbbells at home and runs 2-4 kilometers in the morning.
