Tesla robot will cost less than a car

Elon Musk states that in the near future, people will be buying them as birthday gifts.
Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robots are designed to replace humans on “repetitive, boring, and dangerous tasks.” They will eventually serve millions of people, Musk said, doing tasks like cooking, lawn mowing and caring for the elderly.
He also shared new details about the robot, including information about its cost and likely use. The robot, designed for industrial and domestic use, will debut at AI Day on September 30 after it was first announced at AI Day in August 2021.
“The purpose of this bot is to serve millions of households, such as mowing lawns or caring for the elderly,” Musk wrote in an essay published in China Cyberspace magazine.
The robot is close in height and weight to an adult, can carry or lift heavy objects, walk quickly with small steps, and the screen on its face is an interactive interface for communicating with people. The tycoon explained that the android, which would have human limbs and facial features, was specifically designed that way. “You may wonder why we designed this robot with legs. Because human society is based on the interaction of a bipedal humanoid with two hands and ten fingers. And if we want a robot to adapt to its environment and be able to do what humans do, it needs to be about the same size, shape, and capabilities as a human,” Musk explained.
The CEO confirmed that he plans to focus on improving the bot’s intelligence and solving the problem of large-scale production after demonstrating a prototype next month.
The robot will also be equipped with an autopilot computer used in Tesla electric vehicles, which, according to the company, will allow the humanoid to recognize objects in the real world. Tesla’s autopilot cameras will be mounted in front of the bot’s head, and its inner workings will be handled by a fully autonomous computer.
