26-year-old Russian tennis player, world number five Andrei Rublev beat himself until he bled because of a loss at a tournament in Turin. Footage of Rublev’s violent reaction to the defeat was broadcast.
Rublev lost to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the group stage of the ATP Finals Tournament. The footage shows him repeatedly hitting his legs with a racket. He walks towards his things with a noticeable limp, blood is visible on his knee.
The tournament runs from November 12 to 19. Another Russian, Daniil Medvedev, will play against Alexander Zverev, who plays for Germany, today in the tournament.
