Telecom operators began to be fined for not connecting to Antifraud

Roskomnadzor (RKN) sent 400 telecom operators from Moscow and the Moscow region a notification of an administrative offense (Part 3 of Article 13.2.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) for untimely connection to the Antifraud system. The president of the Association of Small Operators of Russia (AMOR) Dmitry Galushko told Vedomosti about this; the sending of notifications was confirmed by a representative of the regulator. Neither Galushko nor the RKN representative named the specific operators who received the notifications.
The Antifraud system was launched in December 2022, reported “Vedomosti”. It blocks fraudulent calls from spoofed numbers. As the Roskomnadzor press service clarified in June 2023, during its work it prevented 263.3 million fraudulent calls from spoofed numbers. In May, the number of such calls decreased by 18% compared to April and amounted to 58 million.
