Tekstilshchik will not play in the First League in 2024

On November 11, the final match of the summer-autumn part of the 2023-2024 season was played by the players of the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik. The team from Ivanovo played in the “Silver” division of the Second League “A” and for several months fought for promotion in class. The red-blacks were considered the favorites of the “Silver” division and contenders for promotion to the “Gold”, but the reality turned out to be completely different. Igor Kolyvanov’s team took only 5th place, losing to Chelyabinsk by 1 point.
The failure of Tekstilshchik at the summer-autumn stage of the 2023-2024 season played a big role in terms of Tekstilshchik’s prospects for returning to the First League. If Tekstilshchik could enter the top 4, then in the spring they could secure a promotion and a return to the second strongest division of Russian football, but the return to the “Best League in the World” for the Ivanovo team would be delayed.
If Tekstilshchik is able to move from the Silver division to the Golden division in the spring, then during the 2024-2024 season the red-blacks will twice have to take a place among the best teams in the Golden division, which is difficult considering the level of competition in the Second league “A”. In the best case scenario, Tekstilshchik will be able to return to the First League before the start of the 2025-2026 season.
