Tattoo artist Vladimir Yermak said that in Sri Lanka and India, a person can be beaten for having a Buddha image. He explained this by the fact that there his image is considered sacred. He told the publication NEWS.ru.
“In Sri Lanka and in India, the image of the Buddha is considered sacred. It cannot be stuffed on the body of local citizens, ”Yermak explained.
He also added that if there is an image of a deity on the body of a citizen, then he may be denied a visit to the “tea island” from the local government.
In addition, he stressed that in the United States a person can be beaten if the symbols of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS13) gang are stuffed on his body. In America, this criminal gang is considered one of the most dangerous in the world.
At the same time, in Denmark, tattoos are completely forbidden to flaunt. On the territory of the country, they are not prohibited, but they must be depicted in beautiful and neutral sketches.
