Mikhail Kettuev, a representative of the Marine Underwater Weapons – Gidropribor Concern, announced at the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2023) that the new UMT small-sized torpedo is being successfully tested. UMT has small dimensions and weight, which allows it to be installed on boats, helicopters, drones and unequipped vessels. The torpedo can be supplied complete with a launcher and a data entry panel for organizing firing. All torpedo systems are electronic and digital, allowing for easy compatibility with carrier computers.
Caliber UMT is 220 mm, length – 2 meters. The torpedo contains enough explosive to carry up to 35 kg of TNT. The range of the torpedo is up to 5-7 km, the speed is up to 27 knots (approximately 50 km/h), and the travel depth is up to 450 meters. UMT is capable of hitting all submarines that operate at a given depth.
UMT was presented in a single exposition of the Tactical Missiles Corporation at IMDS-2023 for the first time.
