TASS: one of the developers of the Sputnik V vaccine was killed in Moscow

The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) opened a criminal case into the murder of a man in the north-west of Moscow, the press service of the capital’s department of the TFR reported. Andrey Botikov, a senior researcher at the Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei, who developed the Sputnik V vaccine, said a police source to TASS.
“The Khoroshevsky Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Investigation Department for the North-Western Administrative District of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder”),” the TFR department said.
According to the investigation, on March 2, a 29-year-old man, during a domestic quarrel, strangled a 47-year-old owner of the apartment with a belt, after which he disappeared. The offender pleaded guilty and was charged. He had previously been prosecuted for a serious crime.
