TASS: in the suburban village of Izmailovo gas exploded in a residential nine-story building

In the urban-type settlement of Izmailovo in the Moscow region, a household gas explosion occurred in a nine-story residential building. This was reported to TASS by sources in emergency services. According to the agency, the gas exploded in house number 1 on Central Square on the fifth floor.
The press service of the regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS that there was no damage during the explosion, with the exception of “violation of the balcony glazing.”
RIA Novosti based on open sources counted 40 gas explosion incidents in apartments or residential buildings in Russia from the beginning of 2021 to the end of April 2022. During this period, gas explosions killed at least 24 people.
At the end of August this year, President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to develop proposals by October 20 to improve the safety of gas equipment in residential buildings.
