Tajikistan found a “British trace” in the migrant strike at a factory near Rostov

Tajikistan commented on the situation with the strike of its citizens at a plant in the city of Shakhty, Rostov region. In an official statement, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration of the republic also named the perpetrators of the incident.

According to the ministry, a strike was announced on January 15 by 55 citizens of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, who were dissatisfied with their salaries and demanded leave.

Representatives of the Ministry of Labor and the Tajik diaspora worked at the plant for the next two days. They communicated with migrants and assessed living and working conditions.

Officials came to the conclusion that not a single clause of the employment contract was violated by the employer.

The department’s statement also states that the provocation among employees was carried out by several citizens of Tajikistan who had previously worked in the UK.

Witnesses said that the instigators daily compared working conditions in Russia with Britain and drew attention to low wages.
