The struggle between natural and adoptive parents has taken on bizarre forms

This is the second month that Denis K. has been hanging around the thresholds of social services. He asks for the return of children who have already been taken away from their families twice. The first was when the man left for a special military operation, the second was when he returned from it. Another reason for transferring the children to a social center was a suspicious bruise: it appeared on the child’s body after the New Year holidays. Is the guardianship being nagging, or is violence really likely to happen in the family, the MK correspondent looked into it.

Denis’s family is already “wounded” by orphanhood. His wife grew up in an orphanage. Once they tried to take her into a foster family, but Elena didn’t like it there. She voluntarily returned to the shelter and complained that her guardians were beating her.

Now her life is repeating itself at the same point. Elena’s children also ended up in a foster family. This happened when Denis’s husband was convicted of selling drugs and sent to a colony. From there the man went to the Northern Military District.

Denis served in the assault squad. In one of the operations he was seriously wounded, after which he was dismissed from service. But, according to the terms of the prisoner’s contract, his criminal record is now washed away in blood.

Returning home, Denis knew that only his then common-law wife, Elena, was waiting for him in Moscow. Their two children are in foster care. It so happened that Lena, when Denis was imprisoned, could not cope with the children’s weather, she called the guardianship and asked to pick up the children. The talk, according to Denis, was about temporary placement in a shelter, but the kids were quickly taken under the care of a family from Kolomna near Moscow.

Denis found a foster family and announced his intention to return the children. He succeeded. The Kolomna City Court sided with his own father. At the moment, the trials are not over yet. The foster family continues to fight for the children. However, a 4-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, by decision of the court of first instance, moved to their parents in Moscow.

And on January 10, Denis’s youngest daughter came to kindergarten with a bruise on her body. The teachers of the group, as required by the instructions, reported the alarming fact to the district guardianship. According to the instructions, both children were taken from the family and placed in a family center until the circumstances were clarified.

How alarming can a bruise be? And is it possible to remove a child from the family only on the basis of a disturbing mark on the body?

– You see, it depends on what kind of bruise. If traces of a fall or even a beating are noticed on the body of a child who has never come to the attention of social services, and his parents have not been seen in abuse, then no one will sound the alarm on this occasion. Everyone understands that children can fall. And unsystematic physical punishment has not yet been punished,” social worker Elena Pribrezhnaya told MK. – But if traces of beatings appear constantly, and they are traumatic in nature, then the educator or teacher must give a signal to social services. In the case of Denis, the situation is special. Children have already been taken away once. The fact that a man fought in the Northern Military District does not give him complete carte blanche. We already know of several high-profile cases of violence against children, where the father of the family returned from a special operation. Therefore, I think that the teachers did the right thing. But now the task of the examination and social services is to competently understand everything. and parents – try not to interfere with them and prove in practice their readiness to raise children. Renovate the apartment, visit the children every day, bring food and gifts. It’s fortunate that dad, as a member of the SVO, has the means to do this.

Now Elena and Denis have formalized their relationship. Elena is pregnant with her third child. They are determined to fight for their children.
