“Sustainable City Development”: more than a hundred people took part in the educational intensive

As part of the FFM, a two-day intensive “Sustainable City Development” was held in Zaryadye Park for the capital’s executive authorities. More than a hundred people took part.

Let us remember that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were developed in 2015 and set until 2030. There are 17 of them in total. Since February of this year, the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy has been authorized to implement measures to achieve the SDGs. In addition, for three years now, together with the VEB.RF corporation, the Department has been implementing a project with single-industry towns in the country, where Moscow acts as a mentor. “Moscow remains one of the world leaders in creating comfortable conditions for living and doing business that meet the SDGs. We have relevant experience in implementing projects to achieve the SDGs, which we are ready to share,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. He noted that the educational intensive has become an expert platform for gaining knowledge and experience in this field. Over the course of 2 days, it was visited by over a hundred representatives of executive authorities and subordinate organizations. The department coordinates Moscow’s sustainable development projects and implements its own.

Thus, to achieve the Goal “Quality Education”, a project was launched to train engineering personnel for industry – “MTS”. The department is also implementing a number of initiatives, including the creation of an ESG Certification Center for organizations.
