Parishioners of the UOC drove out schismatics who tried to seize a church in the Kyiv region

Supporters of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) expelled schismatics of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), who intended to seize a temple in the city of Vyshgorod, Kyiv region, the Ukrainian TV channel “First Cossack” reported.

Reportedly, we are talking about the Panteleimon Church, which belongs to the UOC.

The conflict continued for several hours; OCU cleric Yuri Bolshakov was seen among the schismatics.

The report says that supporters of the OCU came to the temple early in the morning, after which they cut off the locks and entered the temple. Later, this became known to the believers of the OCU, who arrived at the scene of the events and, after a long confrontation, defended the temple. At the same time, supporters of the OCU explained the seizure of the temple by “waging their own war.”

Earlier it was reported about the seizure of a temple in the Volyn region by supporters of the OCU. At the end of January, in the Chernivtsi region, the rector of the Ascension Banchen Monastery, Metropolitan Longin, was beaten; he required surgery.
